Personally, we’ve experienced the issue with Mozilla Firefox freezing since our upgrade from version 5 to version 6.
Every couple of minutes, firefox would lock up completely and would return to normal after 30 seconds.
We run a rather plugin-less firefox as it is but decided to start the browser in it’s safe mode state, just incase.
After several minutes, I began experiencing the lock ups again – that rules out a plugin then.
Next step I tried was to clear out the history! This is done by hitting Tools –> “Clear Recent History” and selecting all the boxes as follows:
- Browsing & Download History
- Form & Search History
- Cookies
- Cache
- Active Logins & Site Preferences
After the above was cleared and the browser was restarted, we haven’t experienced a single freeze yet ( currently 5 days !! )
